If you are looking to cancel your Cove alarm monitoring, you are not alone. Whether you are moving, switching to a new provider, or just looking to cut costs, the process is fairly straightforward. Cove does require you to contact their support center by phone to end the service, but the whole thing takes just a few minutes.

Below I’ll walk you through how to close your Cove account based on your plan type, what to expect with billing, and what your options are if you still want home protection after leaving.

How to End Your Cove Subscription

To stop your Cove monitoring, you need to call their support team at 855-268-3669. There is currently no way to do this through the Cove Connect portal online. You must speak with a representative over the phone.

Here is what you will want to have ready before you call:

  • Your account information (name, email, or order number on file)
  • Your billing details and payment information
  • Any questions about remaining balance or the process

Once you are on the phone, please call our support team and let them know you want to discontinue. They will verify your information, walk you through any amount owed, and process everything.

The change will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will not receive a partial Cove refund for the remaining days in that period.

Cove’s 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee and Refund Policy

If you are within 60 days of your original purchase, you are covered by Cove’s money-back guarantee. This means you can return the hardware for a full refund with no questions asked. Just contact their team at 855-268-3669 and they will send you a return label.

You will need to send back all of the devices in their original condition. Once Cove receives them, they will process the refund to your original payment method. This is the easiest route if you recently signed up and realized it is not the right fit for your home.

If you are outside the 60-day window, refunds are not available, but you can still end the monitoring depending on your plan type.

Based on Your Plan Type

Cove offers two main plans, and the process differs slightly between them.

Value Plan Customers

If you are on the Value plan, you paid for your devices upfront when you placed your order. Because you own everything outright, you can cancel at any time with no penalties or fees. Simply call 855-268-3669 and they will close things right away.

You get to keep all of your hardware even afterward. The alarm itself will still work for basic functions like sounding the siren if a sensor is triggered, but you will lose access to the Cove Connect app, professional monitoring, and any smart home features.

Economy Plan Customers

If you chose the Economy plan, your hardware cost was rolled into your monthly payment over 36 months. If you end the plan before that period is up, you will need to pay off the remaining balance before your account can be closed.

You can find this information in your original confirmation email. When you reach out, they can also look up what you owe. Once the amount is settled, everything goes through immediately.

What Happens to Your Devices Afterward?

Regardless of which plan you are on, your equipment is yours to keep. Cove does not require you to return the products after the cancellation goes through unless you are within the 60-day return window and want a refund.

After your services end, the devices will still function at a basic level. The panel will still sound the siren if a sensor is tripped, and any door or window sensors will still register.   • Professional monitoring (no police, fire, or medical dispatch)
  • Access to the customer portal and mobile app

Surprisingly, you will not lose access to viewing your cameras from the mobile app. You’ll even still receive notifications from the cameras too.

Still Want Home Protection? Consider These Alternatives

I think Cove is a great service that comes in at a really affordable price. If possible, I would recommend keeping the service.
